How to Unlock the Transfer Market in EA Sports FC 26 Ultimate Team - Graduated Access Explained

The transfer market has always been EA Sports FC Ultimate Team. It’s where trading happens, coins are made, and squads come to life. But in FC 26, EA has introduced a new Graduated Access system designed to protect the in-game economy while making sure new accounts don’t flood the market unfairly. This means that if you’re starting a fresh account, you won’t be able to dive straight into trading you’ll first need to prove your activity by completing key objectives.

This fresh approach ensures that bots and coin farmers don’t get immediate access, making the FUT economy healthier for long-term players. While it might feel restrictive at first, it’s ultimately a safeguard for the community. The good news? Returning players in good standing from previous versions like FIFA 23, FC 24, or FC 25 get to skip Graduated Access completely. That means they can trade freely from day one, whether on console, PC, or the companion app.

Foundation Objectives You Must Complete

To unlock the Transfer Market in FC 26, you’ll need to complete four Foundation Objective groups inside the FC Hub → Foundations tab. There are several foundation missions available, but only these four matter for unlocking market access. They are:

  1. New Beginnings

  2. Venturing Out

  3. Diving In

  4. On Your Way

These objectives are chained, meaning you can’t just skip ahead. You must finish them in order; completing one unlocks the next. In total, it can take around 40 matches to get everything done, so be prepared to invest some time. But once you work through them all, the Transfer Market doors will open within 24 hours (console) or 48 hours (PC).

Step 1: New Beginnings

The very first stage is New Beginnings, and this is where every new player starts their grind. The reward for completing this section is an 83-rated Squad Foundations Bruninha (RB), which will immediately strengthen your early squad.

The objectives here are straightforward:

  • Complete the Passes and Shots Moment

  • Play 3 Squad Battles

  • Play 1 Squad Battles Featured Squad

Once finished, the next block, Venturing Out, becomes available.

Step 2: Venturing Out

After New Beginnings, you’ll unlock Venturing Out, which hands you another special 83-rated Squad Foundations card upon completion.

Here, you’ll need to:

  • Play 3 Rush Matches

  • Complete the Foundations EVO

  • Score 10 goals

Once these are done, you’ll be able to proceed to the next chapter: Diving In.

Step 3: Diving In

The third step in the chain is Diving In, which rewards you with another 83-rated Foundations card to boost your squad. At this stage, you’re pushed further into competitive modes and gameplay diversity.

The objectives are:

  • Play 5 Rush matches

  • Play 5 Squad Battles

  • Play 5 Rivals matches

Once you’ve ticked these off, you can unlock the final stage: On Your Way.

Step 4: On Your Way

The last hurdle is On Your Way, which, once completed, gives you the final 83-rated Squad Foundations card. More importantly, this is the step that fully clears the path to the Transfer Market.

The tasks here are:

  • Complete 2 SBCs

  • Play 10 matches

  • Complete 5 Rush Bonuses

By the time you’re done, you’ll have played dozens of matches, experimented with different modes, and strengthened your squad with multiple untradeable players. This is exactly what EA intended before giving players access to the trading hub.

Transfer Market Unlock Time

Once all four Foundation Objective groups are completed, the Transfer Market unlocks, but not instantly. EA has set a waiting period of up to 48 hours for PC players and 24 hours for console players before granting full access. During this time, you can still list items but won’t be able to search or bid until the restriction lifts.

This delay is part of EA’s monitoring system, ensuring fair play and a gradual entry into the FUT economy. For returning players, though, there’s no such wait they’ll enjoy full Transfer Market access from day one.

Is the Graduated Access system BETTER?

The new Graduated Access system in FC 26 Ultimate Team might seem like a grind at first, but it’s a smart way to protect the FUT economy while still giving players structured objectives. By the time you’ve completed New Beginnings, Venturing Out, Diving In, and On Your Way, you’ll not only unlock the Transfer Market but also have a stronger squad and better understanding of the game modes.

So, if you’re starting fresh, don’t be discouraged; it’s all part of the journey. Knock out those objectives step by step, and before you know it, you’ll be trading, flipping, and building the squad of your dreams on the Transfer Market.
